Frequently asked questions

How much does a broken garage door spring cost in Dallas?

A torsion spring pair replacement usually runs $200 to $400 in the Dallas metro. We replace springs in pairs, balance the door, and most homes get same-day service.

How soon can you come out for a broken spring?

Most broken-spring calls in Dallas, Plano, Irving, Garland, Richardson, and Frisco get same-day service if you call before noon. After-hours and Sunday emergency response is available at a higher rate. We give you a real arrival window when you book, not a vague two-hour block.

Are you a licensed and insured garage door company in Dallas?

Texas does not require a state-issued license for residential garage door repair, which makes choosing a verifiable, insured provider more important here than in a licensed trade. We carry general liability and workers comp above industry minimums, and we share a certificate of insurance on request. Our technicians are IDA-trained.

Should I replace one spring or both?

Both. Springs are sold and rated as a balanced pair, and a fresh spring against a fatigued one puts the door out of balance. Replacing the second spring later costs more than doing both today.

Do you install LiftMaster, Genie, or Chamberlain openers?

Yes, we install all three brands plus jackshaft side-mount openers from LiftMaster and Aladdin. We carry chain-drive, belt-drive, and jackshaft units on the truck and we pair the Wi-Fi app before we leave.

My door came off the tracks after I hit it with the car. Can you fix it?

Yes. Off-track service runs $150 to $350 depending on whether hardware (tracks, cables, hinges, rollers) needs replacement. If a panel is bent past straightening we order a single-panel replacement; we tell you on the phone whether your door make and color are still in production before you commit.

Should I repair this old door or replace it?

We give you the honest answer in writing. As a rule of thumb, if the door has multiple cracked or rotting panels, if the springs are at end-of-life on an extension-spring system, or if the opener is also dying, replacing is usually the better value over the next 10 years. We will lay out both numbers.

What is the difference between a chain-drive and belt-drive opener?

Chain drives are loud but the most durable and least expensive. Belt drives run quieter (good for attached garages under a bedroom) and last about as long. Jackshaft side-mount openers free up the ceiling for storage and run very quiet. We will tell you which fits your garage and budget.

Can you smart-enable my old garage door opener?

For many openers, yes. A MyQ smart hub or Tailwind iQ3 retrofits onto most LiftMaster, Genie, and Chamberlain openers from the last 15 years. If your opener is from before 1995 (no rolling code) it usually makes sense to replace rather than retrofit.

Do you handle commercial overhead doors?

We handle smaller commercial sectional and rollup doors (storefronts, light industrial, small warehouses). For high-speed doors, dock leveler integration, and large commercial rollup work, we will refer you to a commercial-specialist company.
